So another 2 weeks are nearly over, and I have to say I enjoy myself more and more! Time passes so quickly, I can't believe it!
In school everything stayed the same, I'm already quite used to the habits and traditions they have there, for example I do not always want to stand up anymore when the teacher enters the classroom, because they actually don't do that here! :D This week I started the extra english classes for the advanced Cambridge Certificate, which is a well-known exam, that is especially appreciated by employers. I have them twice a week which is exhausting after a school day that lasts until 3:40 pm, but it will definitely be worth it in the end
The nearest town for me is Dun Laoghaire, there are pretty nice shops, also a Penneys (which is around every corner in Ireland, because it is an Irish Label) and you can get great clothes there for a good value. Dun Laoghaire is right next to the sea! I watched the beautiful sunset at the bay of Dun Laoghaire with my friends. It was breathtaking
I have been in Dublin as well, which is the capital of Ireland, so it's obvious that there is the great hype. I can only say it is beautiful with all the nice green parks, well-preserved churches, fashionable shopping streets and the famous Irish Pubs! I literally love it.
You will hear from me soon again
Bye for now!
Beautiful Dun Laoghaire Bay <3
I've been here in the beautiful country Ireland for nearly two weeks now and I'm enjoying it!
I'm attending a school called Rockford Manor, which is only for Girls, like most of the schools in Ireland. We are supposed to wear school uniforms, which saves a lot of time in the morning. I have to get up at 7:30 am, compared to Austria this is actually luxury! That's because school starts only at 9:00 am, but we have to be in school a Little earlier because the assembly takes place every morning. There the principle tells us general information about the things that are going on in school, while some teachers are checking the student's uniform, nails, and piercings or necklaces. Assembly is finished by the morning prayer and then the normal classes start. On my fist day I had to choose all my subjects, because there are compulsory subjects (Maths, Irish, Englisch, P.E., Religion, Careers and SPHE) and optional subjects - I have picked Business, Art and Geography. Exames have to be done at Christmas and by the end of the school year so they don't really have to study during the year!
The building is really old with many many corners and it is not well equipped with technology or furniture but I am getting used to it. :D
More info will follow.
Lovely Greetings from the Green Island
